Javier speaks: HAILS TO ALL!!!! I've come back from the depths of HELL!!!! The underworld of the Death-Metal scene from CHICAGO...HEAVY METAL of DEATH as some people put it. I am ever so grateful to return & jam with my brothers in "BATTERY".
"BATTERY" Speaks.......
We first met Javier back around 1998 in Chicago, when we needed a lead guitar player to fill in for a few shows. He was playing in a local Metallica Tribute called "Damaged Justice" and we heard he was a really good guitar player. We made some calls & Javier agreed to come play the show with us. We played some club in Blue Island...and Javier was great but we already had a lead guitar player so we thanked Javier for doing a great job and off we went down the road throughout the US....Javier continued playing the Chicago area for several years before joining the Death Metal band, "ANCIENT GODS"...their shit was brutal!!! After 5 years Javier started jamming again with a re-vamped "Damaged Justice" , but they were looking for a James Hetfield". Then "BATTERY" needed a new lead guitar played & Javier happened to be at a "BATTERY" show in Highland Indiana. Old friends brought together thru music....Javier, Phil & Laurence exchanged greetings, stories....and phone numbers & Javier once again was called & stepped in to fill in on lead guitar. He did such an outstanding job and was such a cool guy.......that "BATTERY" offered him a full time position with the band, as "That Kirk Hammett Guy".... Javier is awesome in the Kirk position....He's got the guitar chops, He's got the look, He's got the guitars, He's got the hair, and He's "The Man in Black".....
