TEAGUE W PURTELL    

Born Oct.30, 1971in Adelaide Australia. Spent early childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia CANADA Later childhood and teen years in Newcastle, New Brunswick CANADA

Became interested in music at a very early age. With first earliest recollection being love for ABBA. Began playing Saxophone at 13. Continued to play and take lessons until high school graduation.

Began playing piano at 14. Continued to play and take lessons until high school graduation. Never really stopped playing piano. Began playing guitar at 15. Became favorite instrument. Formed first rock band. Played dances throughout high school years. Went on to study seriously after high school.

1989-1990 Berklee College of Music, Boston, Mass.

1990-1991 Humber College, Toronto, Ontario Studied under the direction of Peter Harris.

1991-1993 Traveled with Disaster Area and Battery across the states and Canada.

1993-1997 Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio. Studied under the direction of Bob Fraser.

1994 Began playing cello. Received scholarship and studied under the direction of Brian Dumm from the Cleveland Orchestra.

1997 Opened teaching center. Currently teach piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute and of course guitar. Clinics and recitals done 3 or 4 times a year.

1998 Rejoin Disaster Area. Still teaching at center. Slowly becoming cyberfied.

So I'll just mention some of the guitar favorites: Mike Stern, Eddie Van Halen, Pat Metheny, Alan Holdsworth, Joe Pass, David Gilmore, John Scofield, Nuno Bettencourt, Robin Ford, Albert Collins, SRV, Steve Morse, George Benson, Steve Vai, Albert Lee, Adrian Legg, Joe Satriani, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, George Lynch, Eric Johnson, Marty Friedman, John McLauglin, Herb Ellis, Andres Segovia. The list goes on forever. I love the instrument and those that can take it to new levels.
